Farewell Arabella

12 May 2016

It is with great regret and deep sadness that we must today inform you that our friend and loyal servant of the UKWA Arabella has lost her short but brave battle for life.

Arabella passed away at home late on Tuesday night with her family in attendance.

It was thought that Arbella's health had been improving but recently she had taken a turn for the worst.

We have of course passed on our condolences to the family, Arabella never failed to update us on the latest visits of the grandchildren and our thoughts I am sure are with them all today.

Arabella was a great servant to the UKWA for almost 14 years. She made the roll of administrator look simple, however it is very clear that with 5 disciplines and many fleets and classes to manage this was and remains a complicated business. Despite being employed for just two days a week by the association, hardly a day would go by without e-mails and telephone calls at all hours of the day and evening, her dedication was undoubted and her organization and planning made the actual running of events a much simpler project than they might have otherwise been.

Bob Ingram, Chairman added “ Arabella has been up until this year the Administrator of the UKWA throughout my entire time as Chairman of the association, she was without doubt the cog that made the Association work, but much more than this I remember her best as a friend”

Arabella will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
