The support for this event is astounding, with the amount of enthusiasm being shown there is no way this initiative can fail in it's goal of getting more people into this wonderful sport.

Driven by Wind launched at Boat Show

Dave white and Pete Davis were at the Whyte and Mackay boat show to launch Driven by Wind. This event will be run at The Ray in Southend and will see 30 top sailors including Dave White, Bjorn Dunkerbeck

| and Martin Van Meurs in an attempt to break the outright speed record and hopefully break the 50kt barrier. The current record is held by Finnian Maynard with a speed of 48.70kts set in France two years ago. The event will run from January through to May with the sailors on standby for the perfect forecast. Just 48hrs after the Launch Martin achieved a 51.1kts gps max speed on The Ray confirming what a truely world class venue it is. |
