Forceful

Maaike Huvermann (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) has steadily been becoming a force to be reckoned with on the Women’s PWA Freestyle World Tour. Huvermann - 20 - made her debut in 2013 where she finished the season as the Youth World Champion and 6th overall. Since then Huvermann has not finished outside of the overall top 3 and for has been crowned the vice-world champion for the last two seasons.

Last year Huvermann already showed she is capable of challenging Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins), who has dominated the freestyle scene for the last decade, for the world title after forcing a Super Final during the 2017 Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam, but missed out by the narrowest of margins - 1.2 points.

Now after finishing her studies and spending her winter training in Brazil it looks as though the young Dutch girl will be even more ready to give Offringa her biggest test since Laure Treboux.

Alex Martens (Fanatic / NorthSails) on his latest edit featuring Huvermann: “Maaike and I both love Star Wars as we are both a little nerdy ;P So when she asked me to make her a video I knew I had to find the right song to use. I originally had a different song that would've fit the video quite well, but then I found this Star Wars Remix and knew right away this had to be the one. Enjoy!
