Engadinwind – Registration Day

For the first time ever, here at the famous Engadinwind at lake Silvaplana, an EFPT tow-in competition is a fixed part in the busy schedule of this event. Nine top riders from six nations have been invited to put on a show and to fight for the 3.000€ prize-money that has been put up for grabs.

The international top riders Tonky Frans (RRD/RRD), Amado Vrieswijk (Serverne/JP), Adam Sims (Sailloft/Patrik), Riccardo Marca (Duotone/Fanatic) and Antoine Albert (Goya/Goya) will have to battle against the strong team from Switzerland, featuring Jeremy Plüss, Loick Spicher (RRD/RRD) and Balz Müller (Severne) who is definitely one to watch out for in this discipline.

Since the thermic Malojawind has been blowing consistant with 13 – 15 knots throughout the whole day, the freestylers were held on stand-by, as the slalom and foil races had priority in those kind of conditions. Lake Silvaplana delivered non-stop for more than seven hours, putting the race competitors to work.

In the later afternoon a small tow-in training session had been launched, to give the riders the chance to familiarise with the new, powerful winch that will be used in the contest. The wind and chop gave the sailors a hard time and all further training and competition has been therefor postponed to tomorrow.

First fleet will be on the water in the morning, while the second one will be on in the afternoon. We’ll have enough time to grant six runs to each rider, whilst the two best ones will be counting. The six riders, with the highest points, will advance into the final.

Looking at the fleet, we are expecting lots of crazy moves and a great show here at the Engadinwind 2018. Make sure to follow our social media streams to get more live updates throughout the next few days.
