Racing Format

The format couldn’t be more straightforward! All racers start together on the beach and beach start as soon as the speed boat passes in front of them. You then sail out to a single buoy, gybe around it and come back to the beach – simple! We call this a ‘Master Blaster’, and while many people may say they don’t race, when you think about it, this is what we all do when we go to beach or lake! Using this format means the NWF is inclusive for all windsurfers and abilities from novice upwards.

Over the festival there will be plenty of individual ‘Master Blasters’ each with prizes for various categories – so no excuses not to have a go!

There are 2 main fleets:

National Fleet (For all those who have competed at National Level)

Freeride Fleet (For those who have never competed at a National event – i.e the majority!)

There are various individual categories too which cater for all age and type of windsurfer, so you don’t need the latest hi-tech equipment to have fun and be competitive within the fleet:

Team Entry

There is also an opportunity to enter as a team of 3 sailors who are registered as individuals all within either the National Fleet or the Freeride Fleet.

Pricing Structure

1 x 45 min Taster session priced at £20 available on either Fri, Sat or Sun with instruction provided by Portsmouth Watersports Centre.

Day Entry Ticket

1 Day Entry £25 includes anything that is happening on the day e.g. Master Blasters, Clinics, Tasters. Party tickets can be purchased separately.

Windsurfing Festival Experience includes:

3 days camping, 1 x party ticket gaining access to both Fri & Sat night parties plus a camping plot for 1 person. And of course all the windsurfing racing, clinics, tasters, trade etc!

Windsurfing Festival Family Ticket £150 includes:

Consists of 2 x Adults and max 3 x Youths under the age of 18yrs. With camping, on water participation for the whole group and party tickets.

Discount

When booking an online Windsurfing Festival Experience or Family ticket you can add additional party tickets and camping within this festival experience ticket. All of which is eligible for a 5% discount. Plus there is the option to purchase a NWF t-shirt & hoodie at a discounted price if purchased together as a bundle online before the 1st August.

Note

Additional persons sleeping on allocated plot under 16 yrs are free. Over 16 yrs are charged £10 per person site admin fee for the duration, which covers: marshalling, cleaning, security, barriers, portable toilets, fire appliances, first aid. Additional party tickets are charged at £37.50 per person, which entitles access to both Fri & Sat night parties.

The festival ticket allows you to move between disciplines so you can participate in the SUP too!

The event is hosted on a Blue Flag Beach and for this reason, dogs are banned from the beach over the festival period.
