Bart’s Bash Race Club – 21st Sept ’14

imageAndrew ‘Bart’ Simpson was a much loved and respected member of Team GB’s sailing elite and to celebrate his life, the sailing foundation set up in his honour is aiming to break the world record for the largest sailing event this weekend. All over the world sailing clubs are holding their own race day on Sunday 21st, so that the foundation can gain an idea of how many people are racing on the water at 1.00pm during ‘Bart’s Bash’. And we think that windsurfers should be part of that celebration as well, so we are going to hold a number of races ourselves!

The racing will be all inclusive – all you need to be able to do is sail across the wind, turn round and come back to your starting point. For those of you a little more experienced, we will use the RS:One kit of the Will Mackaness Trust and go and join in on the large start line set up by our partners – the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre. There will also be an open bar at the WPNSA and BBQ food available throughout the afternoon. For more information, call us on 07817 717904. See you on Sunday!
