After two successful events finishing #4th in Korea and #5th in Japan, Esther de Geus NED-16 currently sits in #3 position of the PWA overall slalom rankings.

Esther comments,“A 4th and 5th place at the first two events of the year put me in a 3rd place overall ! The conditions didn’t allow to do many races but the in the heats I really felt comfortable on my equipment. In almost all heats I was sailing with my 7.1 and my Slalom 71 L board. I am really in love with this combination – especially when the wind is so gusty like this time in Korea and Japan.During the winners final in Korea I took the Slalom 62 L and I was impressed: The gusts were really strong up to 25 knots but still also with huge wind holes on the course area. My start at the pin was not the right choice due to a wind shift. Boat start was much more in favor and I arrived almost last at the fist mark. But I managed to catch up and finished 4th place!I am happy with my speed so far and I hope I can keep the progression up during the year! And I’m looking forward to the next events!”
