06012012 -- Trip to Tsimari -- Speedsurfing

The weather forecast was promising but risky due to the heavy rains involved… In the morning we checked the Drepano sand bank, it was great with 5-6 bft SW wind but heavy rain also… We decided to go to Tsimari, where were hoping the wind would turn to NW in the afternoon (according to all weather forecasts, with almost no rain expected…) but it actually came from SW, rather gusty and most of the time rainy! First time I sailed in Tsimari all my runs on port tack! Unfortunately I realized

Magheroarty New Years Eve

New Years Eve session at Magheroarty Beach and Reef filmed from my Go Pro mast mount. Waveriding hard to capture on the Go Pro as the perspective is not as good as jumping, i still think it works OK, just wish someone had been videoing from the beach as it really was one of those very special days at this break, it really was Fantasy Windsurfing! I managed to get back my Goita Mojo, i haven't really tried/landed many this year so it was good to bag a few on camera back on the wave, it really is a satisfying move to complete!
I was pretty stacked on my 4.3m (my brother Finn was on a 4.0!) but the wave stays so perfect and glassy, if i'd been in S Africa this winter i would deffos not got as good as conditions as i did in Donegal!!
North, South, East and West home is always the best!!!
