WHAT A DAY! Pozo was back to its normal ways and absolutely firing! The King and Queen of Pozo - Philip Koster and Daida Moreno were crowned champions after an incredible, action packed day with (almost - 1st heats were started yesterday) the entire men's and women's double elimination completed in one day!

Day 8 of the 2022 Gran Canaria PWA Windsurfing World Cup saw the conclusion of the Men’s Single Elimination in tricky conditions. With 6 Gran Canaria titles a piece, it was the ultimate show down between Philip Koster and Victor Fernandez - but the highest #RedbullRockets jump of the contest so far - a huge 6.9m stalled double, gave Koster the win! Birthday boy Ricardo Campello also put together a stella heat to take 3rd place ahead of Thomas Traversa! #GranCanariaWindsurfWorldCup

Day 7 saw the return of the usual Pozo strength winds as we arrived in the morning which allowed us to complete the Boys U20 division, where Liam Dunkerbeckl dominated every heat to take the win in the single elimination. Then it was over to the Pro Men who made it all the way down to the final 4! Tomorrow will hopefully see the completion of the Pro Men's Final where Victor Fernandez will go up against Philip Koster whilst Ricardo Campello will battle Thomas Traversa for 3rd place.

Only 12 men are left standing in the men's single elimination! This morning we promised action and the Pro Men delivered. The biggest upset was Liam Dunkerbeck taking down Antoine Martin but there were fireworks in every heat as the Pro Men put on an epic display despite it not being your classic Pozo conditions. 10 years on from first defeating Daida in Pozo, Iballa managed to achieve this feat again as she produced a superb display of sailing to earn a deserved victory in the Single Elimination. Fittingly, Iballa posted the highest scoring heat of the contest in the Final to earn the top place on the podium here for the first time since 2012 - although she will still need to try and defend that position in the Double Elimination to walk away from the event as the champion.

Day 4 of the 2022 Gran Canaria PWA Windsurfing World Cup saw the completion of the Women’s Single Elimination in small waves and winds ranging between 20-30+ knots. The Moreno Twins proved to be their usual reckoning force as Daida (Severne / Severne Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) and Iballa (Severne / Severne Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) booked their places in the final, but there was a slight shock in the Winners’ Final as Iballa defeated Daida in Pozo for only the second time in her career.
