Day 1 (April 29) saw excellent wind during the morning hours. By the time the registration and first skippers meeting were finished and the competition got started, the wind became more and more patchy. Unfortunately only one heat saw a valid result with Nick van Ingen and Giovanni Passani advancing into the next round. After this heat the wind dropped more and more and after some hours of waiting the riders got released.
