Waking up early in the morning to check the forecast and head to the beach. The wind and the ocean direct the life of a professional windsurfer Olya Raskina, who travels all year to PWA competitions and training spots like Mauritius, Egypt, Canary islands.
2014 was not an easy year - traveling all the time, moving from one place to another with windsurf beauties camps, PWA wave and freestyle events, shootings and trainings. But if you love it, you enjoy it. 2nd place at PWA Freestyle in Fuerteventura this year. I traveled with Olya the whole year and took photos as well as videos. Here is a short movie about our 2014.

Просыпаешься утром и первое, что ты делаешь - это смотришь, есть ли ветер. Именно он и океан определяют направление движения Оли Раскиной. ЮАР, Египет, Канарские острова, Европа и, конечно же, Маврикий сливаются в один год, в тысячи километров путешествий.
2014 год был особенно не простым, поскольку кроме проведения обучающих лагерей по виндсерфингу, тренировок и съемок, была череда этапов Чемпионатов Мира PWA. Итогом всего стало второе место по фристайлу на этапе чемпионата мира на острове Фуертевентура. Впервые российский атлет попал в призеры мировых виндсерф соревнований.
Я проехал весь этот год вместе с Олей и старался снимать кроме фото ещё и видео, которое легло в основу этой небольшой истории.

A short video showing the event we organised for the first time here in Tenerife. The idea that started in our heads few months before: a downwind race next to the coast of Tenerife. We have chosen El Poris as a place to start the race and finish in front of our center in El Medano, 17km in the straight line down the wind.
Our waiting period between 5th-13th of February was a bit unlucky with the wind, and just after long period of strong winds. But we decided to go for not the best forecast anyway and managed to run the event on 7th of February 2015. With the wind ranging 7-15 knots 12 competitiors had to use the biggest equipment they had with them.
The winner of the race was Matteo Iachino with the time of 33min 25sek, in front of Vincent Langer and Jordy Vonk. The best from the ladies finished Esther van Geus.
We are happy about the results and we will be organising that kind of events in the future again!
