“Having sold my 4.7 Panther 3, I replaced it with the New Ezzy Elite 4.7. Having only seen photos of the new Elite I knew it had the great looks but I was a little skeptical of it only having 4 battens (I have only ever used waves sails with 5) would it lose shape and control when the big gusts hit? Unrolling the Ezzy Elite the build was as always Ezzy quality. It looks really eye catching in the green colours, and very light weight yet strongly made.
Rigging was easy with the new trim guide on the mast foot area and boom strings for the outhaul.(Ezzy also has a video of how to rig it too online) On the water the sail powers up to speed smoothly and rapidly feeling very light in the hands yet has back hand power too when needed for extra boost for jumps. Wave riding was impressive with the Elite, conditions being cross onshore wind made for some clue first type riding, the sail powers on and off with easy, meaning you can concentrate on the wave and not what the sail is doing. Jumping the Elite really boosts you up into the air its light but powerful feel gives you lots of confidence to push your limits. All in all I was very impressed and NO down side to only having 4 battens, only problem now is i will have to replace all my 5 batten sails for 4 batten Elites !
