JP riders successful in Latvia

Last week the final of the NeilPryde Baltic Cup took place in Liepaja, Latvia, where both young Danish riders Christian Justesen and Sebastian Kornum finished on the podium. The two young JP/NeilPryde team mates are members in the same club in Denmark which also hosts a national training center for windsurf racing.

19 year old Christian Justesen DEN-26 finished on a 10th place overall, and he was the best youth sailor!
This result is an indication for other Formula Youth racers what they can expect from the 192 cm tall Justesen at the Formula Youth World Championships in Austria later this August.

In the open class, 21 year old Sebastian Kornum DEN-24 finished 3rd after a series of races.

Sebastian states,
“I made two first and a second out of seven in the Baltic Cup, but unfortunately also a DNF after a crash that broke my board, and a DNS because of an injured elbow, so all together I could not expect better than a third place in such a strong fleet of racers. However, it is the Europeans next week that really count for me. I have been training hard all year for the international Formula Championships, and I know for sure that with JP Formula Power and NeilPryde EVO5 we have the best board and rigs, so I am really motivated to make a top result.”

For Sebastian Kornum this Baltic Cup in Latvia was a perfect tune-up because the European Formula Championships will soon be held at the same spot, too!
“At the Formula Worlds in July, I finished only 12th and that was a bit disappointing for me, but with the outlook of more challenging conditions in Latvia, I am quite set-up for a better position next week. I like the conditions here in Liepaja. Good waves, lots of wind and excellent race management.”
