While working on the folkfinn project we faced numerous hurdles before it was finally unveiled after several years of work.

Building it from the scratch, with limited funds yet lots of enthusiasm for windsurfing helped to overcome the daily grind. It seems as though we’re on a good path to accomplish what we set out to do.

Although just a fledgling in the world of milling and crafting new fins, now you can see what we intend to achieve. Primarily we will offer standard black G10 milled fins as well as composite carbon fins that will hit shelves in folkfinn stores soon.

But folkfinn also has an ace up its sleeve and we can reveal that instead of ploughing the same tried and tested furrow, we are about to deliver wooden fins! Yes that’s right, wood.

Folkfinn consists of a four-man team: Wiktor, Rafal, Adam and Dominik  - each of us with our own speciality, be it either windsurfing, CAD design, analysis or artwork.

The initial uptake has been strong with boxes of fins despatched to Brazil for pros training over the winter.  We’re also proud to be working on a Jacopo Testa Pro-Model.

What we are particularly proud of is that we are the company that’s 100% self-reliant, working with its own CNC machine and composite workshop.

For now we’re focusing on wave and freestyle models but the freeride market is in our sights.

Folkfinn follows the assertion that precision products will increasingly be made locally thanks to CAD technology, yet, who knows, maybe one day folkfinn will be able to stand up to mass production? Watch this space!
