Following a less than perfect race for Ryan and Jo in Jersey it seems that it is back to normal for the dominant Black Project Fins SUP racers in the UK;
“UK SUP Clubs 3rd race of the National Series was held on 3rd May. It was a 10km flat water distance race held on a waterski lake in the Midlands. Any regular flat water distance race I would automatically choose to paddle my 14’ Starboard Sprint. However, this distance race had 20 turns, was it the correct board to choose?
The turns were slow but the speed on each leg was good. Both Ryan James (Starboard / Black Project) and I chose the 14’ Sprint with Black Project SUP WQ8 Race fin and it was the winning combination. Ryan finished 1st 14’ Male and 1st Overall and I finished 1st 14’ Female and 1st Female Overall.
Next race for both of us is Battle of the Thames, a 10 mile flat water race. We are hoping our Black Project team mate, Sam Ross, will be joining us for this race
” Joanne Hamilton-Vale (Starboard / Black Project)
