Vassiliki Greece – Club Vass Windsurfing Holiday

I have just returned from a week’s holiday ay Club Vass.Although the wind gods did not play ball during my weeks holiday with only 3 hours sailing in gusty winds from an off shore direction, this is a place you definitely need to experience!

Its 2014 kit – Severne sails from 3m to 8.6m, Fanatic, Starboard, RRD, JP boards and SUP’s as well. An elite section of boards are also available to hire if you want to show off your ‘pro’ skills but there is plenty of choice available if you don’t.The sails are all rigged on 100% carbon masts with adjustable harness lines. You can set them how you want them. If you have made the wrong chose just come in and change it!The teaching was 100% with simulators, video, and light wind sessions on the water in intimate groups with top class instructors. There is also 2 daily guided mountain bike rides, SUP fitness lessons, Yoga, Pilates and a onsite diving center if you fancy doing something else or the wind doesn’t kick in.

The atmosphere around the club during the day and night is very easy going and friendly and the Club Vass BBQ is a must do. If you can’t keep up with the youngsters, the local town is full of excellent harbour tavernas for us older ones.

We made good use of Happy Hour every day at the beach bar between 5 and 6 pm and had the wind been blowing, the center stays open until the last person comes off the water even if that’s 8 or 9 pm.

I am now planning my return trip in the hope I have better luck next time with the wind I get to experience everything Vass has to offer.
