As a windsurfer it always seems that great conditions (in the Uk) are tied to bad weather, cold winds and cool seas. But after a summer of mostly flat water surely everyone who windsurfs is hoping for an early Autumn with its associated storms and swell. It felt as though it had arrived today, 21 August (see the pictures below of a S Wales reef under stormy skies). 

Next Monday it is the summer bank holiday, which as every windsurfer knows is always windy and always wet. The true beginning of Autumn. This year looks no different with over 20mm of rain and strong S winds predicted for Cornwall:
