  • IN FEW WORDS YOUR FIRST SESSIONS/ YOUR BEGINNING: I started in 1981 at the age of 15 in the Netherlands. The equipment was really big and heavy, I remember a wooden boom.
  • WHICH DISCIPLINE DO YOU PRACTISE, ONLY SPEED? ARE U COMPETING AS WELL? I do only Speed, but tried also from time to time Slalom. I am competing as well.

  • HOW OFTEN DO U SAIL? FAVOURITE SPOT? TRIP? I am sailing approximately 50 days/year. Favorite Spots: La Franqui/France; Walvis Bay/Namibia. Best Trip:  Lüderitz Speed Challenge 2012
  • WHICH EQUIPMENT DO U USE FOR SPEED?: Patrik boards/Loft sails/Lessacher fins
  • WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS AND YOUR WEAKNESSES? Strengths: my strong will to achieve my goals, my planning skills  / Weaknesses: flexibility and not enough time on water
  • WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS FOR LUDERITZ SPEED CHALLENGE 2014? To set a new German Speedsailing Record; to be at least for 2 seconds 50 knots fast; pushing my limits; to have a good time with friends
  • HOW FAST DO U THINK A WINDSURFER CAN GO? In my opinion there is no limit… in the moment maybe 54 kts./500 m and 56 kts. max. speed
