Perry’s heaven

Perry’s heaven

Today’s forecast looked good at around 25 – 30MPH. Time to get back out on the water and blow some cobwebs away.As I was sitting at home in Dereham looking out off the window only seeing a gentle breeze, I phone Frank for an update. He confirmed that Wells was on so I set off getting there to the wind blowing a very strong northerly, so I rigid up my brand new 2015 Gator 4.7 and used my new Fanatic textreme 86L.

What a fantastic combination! The tide was coming in so we went over to the spot Neil found and named Perry’s Heaven. It was heaven sailing there as the water was flatter than the channel so I made some cracking gybes!! (Although Neil will probably dispute that even though he wasn’t there)

The only problem was the wind just continued to strengthen to the point I was sailing so over powered I decided to head back in.Heading back off the wind for a mile totally overpowered was a little nerve racking! The coast watch station confirmed it was blowing 44 knots gusting 50 which is in excess of 50 MPH.Can’t wait to try my kit combination again but will be hoping for a little less wind next time.Stephen
