The Carve Gybe (planing step Gybe). Whether you have be trying it for 1 week or 20 years this video tries to break the gybe down into it's simplest components. An Alternative to the Planing Step Gybe, This gybe looks at coming out still switch stance, it draws on elements of the step gybe and duck gybe. This can be a great way of getting used to sailing switch for later freestyle moves. Also a popular way of gybing narrower or smaller boards or gybing in waves. This non-planing gybe helps lay down the fundamentals of the full planing gybe in light winds, a great move to practise whatever level you're at. The Heli Tack (helicopter tack) is a great early freestyle move to learn with good practical purpose. It not only helps improve normal tacking but the foot change and rig flip are great practise for gybing. The move is also great way of turning around on small boards or on choppy water.
