For the second time in her career, and the first time in Fuerteventura, Maaike Huvermann defeated Sarah-Quita Offringa in a heat - specifically the final of the Double Elimination, putting her on the cusp of a first World Title. All would be decided in the Super Final - an additional heat to decide the event and World Title.

The Queen of Windsurfing came out charging - fired up and determined to not end her streak of 15 back to back freestyle World Titles.

Maaike continued to impress in the super final - once again landing a spock kono - a new move in the womens freestyle division as well as a big skopu on the outside and actually had a higher heat score on port tack in the Super Final, but Sarah-Quita wasnt going down without a fight, and her starboard tack score gave her the edge to take the World Title.

This was a huge result however for Maaike, showing the World that Sarah-Quita is no longer completely unbeatable.

The level of womens freestyle is higher than ever - congratulations Maaike for pushing higher and harder than ever before!
