Surfing with the Lumix S1

I took the pre production Lumix S1 to film a documentary about surf therapy in Cape Town. Before using the camera and housing for the documentary I wanted to test everything out at a surf break in Noordhoek. As the day went on the sun began to set and I pushed the ISO to 6400 without any issues. I ended up filming until it was completely dark with just a few surfers left and made for some lovely images. It was so peaceful swimming amongst the waves under the setting sun and turned out to be the perfect evening to swim with the new camera.

With the full frame sensor and IBIS make this a really good surf camera for both film and photos. As it was a pre production camera I managed to get hold of a housing from Outex with the camera and housing working great in the small surf.
